It has been a little over a week since Bob Odenkirk collapsed on the set of You better call Saul, suffering from what he would later describe on social media as “a little heart attack.” Odenkirk’s health problems sparked a massive wave support for Mr. Show Legend, as fans, friends and coworkers all spoke out that the world is, in fact, a better place with Bob Odenkirk in it.
Odenkirk again responded to said explosion support, by posting a little update on Twitter last night in which he informed his many supporters that he was “doing very well”. He also gently laughed at the pure amount of the praise he has received since his collapse, calling him “my own “It’s a Wonderful Life” week of people insisting that the world be a little better ”and asking everyone involved to“ ”keep expectations reasonable. (This seems unlikely, however, given how much, and unfortunately, so many people reacted to the concept of an existence without Odenkirk.)
Odenkirk was filming the sixth and final season of You better call Saul when he collapsed; the season is slated to air in 2022, though it’s unclear whether Odenkirk’s recent health issues could potentially have an impact exactly when it happens. (The hope, of course, being that he and production will wait until he is fully healthy and well to start over; he previously noted that AMC has been extremely supportive following the emergency.) He’s had a banner year anyway, having starred in the well-received action thriller No one– that is, “What if Bob Odenkirk was John Wick?” ” – as well as in a standout I think you should go sketch it only became more strangely poignant as a result of his heart attack. (Fingers crossed for many more triples, of all classic Odenkirk cars wants, for many years to come.)
