A Connecticut golfer was taken to hospital Thursday after suffering a bobcat attack on the course, officials said.
The episode occurred around 8:30 am at the Mohegan Sun Golf Course in Baltic, Connecticut, the Ministry of Energy and Environmental Protection (DEEP) announced in a press release. .
"Another member of the golf team was able to hunt the bobcat," officials said.

The injured individual, whose "condition is unknown," was taken for medical treatment after suffering lacerations, DEEP said.
After the incident, the DEEP environmental protection police managed to locate the bobcat and euthanize it humanely, according to officials. The animal was taken to the UConn medical laboratory for testing, they added.
The animal was also spotted during an attack on a horse earlier in the morning, officials said. The horse is under the care of a veterinarian after being cut to the neck and to the eyes.

"DEEP thinks this lynx is the one involved in the two attacks this morning," the press release said.
The ministry then described the "shy and secret" nature of bobcats, adding that "attacks against humans are extremely rare."
