A body found behind a house in the southwestern part of Chicago was identified Wednesday by the Cook County Medical Examiner's office as that of a 19-year-old pregnant woman who disappeared last month.

Marlen Ochoa-Uriostegui's body was discovered after the arrest of several people at his home, according to authorities. No charges against people in detention have been announced.

Chicago firefighter spokesman Larry Merritt said Chicago Tribune paramedics were called home for a newborn with breathing difficulties the same day the woman was missing.

"We believe that she was murdered and that the baby was forcibly removed as a result of this murder," said Chicago Police spokesman Anthony Guglielmi. He adds that the baby has been hospitalized and is in a "serious" condition after being cut off from the mother's body.

The office of the medical examiner announced that Ochoa-Uriostegui had died as a result of a strangulation of the ligature. His death is considered a homicide. Ochoa-Uriostegui was nine months pregnant when she disappeared on April 23 after leaving high school.

Guglielmi said the investigators were interviewing people taken from his home about the killing of Ochoa-Uriostegui.

"We think they all played a role in this indescribable act of violence," he said.
