GRAND TETON NATIONAL PARK, Wyoming – A body believed to be Gabby Petito was found in Grand Teton National Park, Wyoming, where authorities searched, according to the FBI.
Officials said human remains matching Petito’s description were found earlier on Sunday. However, FBI officials claim that full forensic evidence has not been completed, so they cannot definitively confirm that they found it.
The cause of death has also not been determined, officials said.
For now, an undeveloped camping area on the east side of Grand Teton will remain closed while the investigation continues, according to the FBI.
Investigators always ask anyone with more information about Petito or Laundrie, or if they had seen them around campsites in the park, to let them know to help move the investigation forward.

Petito, 22, and her boyfriend Brian Laundrie left in July for a hike across the country in a converted van to visit the national parks of the western United States. Police said Laundrie was alone when he drove the van back to his parents’ home in North Port, Fla. On September 1.
Petito’s family filed a September 11 missing person report with Suffolk County Police in New York City.
Laundrie has since been identified as a person of interest in the case.
