A body has been found in Wyoming where researchers are looking for missing woman Gabby Petito.

The body was found in the Bridger-Teton National Forest. Teton County Coroner Brent Blue confirmed to FOX News that a body was found. The identity of the person has not been confirmed.

FOX News Digital can also confirm that approximately 10 minutes after the coroner’s arrival at the scene, the search dogs participating in the search left the search area.

The FBI plans to hold a press conference at 5:00 p.m. CT at Grand Teton National Park with law enforcement from the National Park Service.

Gabby Petito went missing in August while traveling across the country with her boyfriend, Brian Laundrie. He returned home without her and was designated a Person of Interest.

While Laundrie remained silent as Gabby’s search began, her family had grown increasingly boisterous in calls for him to speak and for the public to be on the lookout.

“I lived in New York and they were in Florida, so not as good as I would have liked, but there was still no red flag to indicate that it would be, we would be here today,” The Gabby’s father, Joe Petito, said. “My daughter is not here, our daughter is not here, we don’t even know where she is, what condition she is in, we are shooting from the hip here trying to do what we can.”

Last week, a body camera video released by Utah police shows their meeting with Petito and Laundrie on August 12. Petito sat in the back of a patrol vehicle on the side of a Utah road while Brian stayed outside their camper van while law enforcement sorted. what happened after a witness called the police to report a possible situation of domestic violence. Police spoke with them for over an hour and the two were separated after a physical encounter between the couple earlier in the day.

Officers observed scratches on Brian’s face and arms. During the body camera video, Gabby also told officers that she had no intention of harming Brian.

“What did you intend to do? An officer is heard asking in the body cam video. “What was the reason for the slap?” “

“I was trying to get him to stop [telling] calm me down, ”Gabby said in tears.

“Well, it doesn’t look to me like she tried to hurt him,” the officer said. No charges have been laid.
