ST. CHARLES COUNTY, Missouri – Missouri American Water on Monday issued a precautionary advisory regarding the boiling of water for parts of Cottleville, O'Fallon and Weldon Spring in St. Charles County.
Brian Russell, a spokeswoman for Missouri's American Water, said the utility company had attributed this boil water advisory to a breach of the water pipe and subsequent depression.
Approximately 1,500 residential and commercial customers were affected.
These customers will have to boil their water about three minutes before being eaten. Tap water is considered acceptable for washing and bathing.
