Melvin Ingram took part in practice with the Los Angeles Chargers, but the apparently disgruntled defensive end does not participate.

Ingram is sitting out of practice due to dismay at his contractual situation, NFL Network insider Ian Rapoport reported.

The Athletic first reported the news.

An eight-year-old pro with three consecutive trips to the Pro Bowl, Ingram, 31, is in the final season of his current contract and owes $ 14 million in base salary in 2020 from a four-year pact to $ 64 million, by Over the Cap.

Under the new collective agreement, delays can directly affect a player’s ability to achieve unrestricted free will as they may prohibit a player from accumulating a season necessary to achieve free will. In Ingram’s case, however, he reported and also avoided any fines, which are mandatory under the new CBA.

Ingram, the No. 18 pick in the 2013 draft, has seven sacks in each of the past two seasons since tying a career-high 10.5 in 2017. In 2019, he had 48 tackles, seven sacks , five defended passes, 12 quarterbacks and 11 tackles for the loss.

The news comes after Ingram’s teammate and defensive colleague Joey Bosa signed a massive extension.
