Tuesday morning Enjoy your meal publishes its list of 50 nominees for the best new restaurants in the United States in 2019. This list is an annual nod to the new institutions in the country that have caused a sensation in the last 12 months – and this year, a Boston restaurant and one of Somerville captured the hearts (and stomachs) of Enjoy your mealPublishers.
DakZen and Tawakal Halal Café are among the list of esteemed creators, two very different concepts that have attracted their own local clientele.
DakZen, a casual Thai restaurant located on Davis Square in Somerville, opened in June 2018 and offers street food including boat noodles, curries and, more recently, breakfast dishes such as DakZen. Benedict. He immediately drew praise from Eater's Fast-Casual Restaurant of the Year.
Halal coffee Tawakal has had a slightly different course. The Somali restaurant operated as a Tawakal Halal Cuisine in Orient Heights, east of Boston, before closing in 2011; after a seven-year hiatus, it reopened in October 2018 in Jeffries Point. In the café you will find chicken soup "maraq dora", spaghetti of goat "hilib ari" and Tawakal dish, Enjoy your meal called a "crisp chef-d'oeuvre disappeared."
