Bond, Uncharted and Ghostbusters movies just delayed

Hollywood decided tonight was the night to push their movie list – including the latest James Bond release No time to die the Unexplored movie and Ghostbusters: Afterlife. No time to die now has a release date of October 8, ghost hunters will be postponed for five months to November 11, and Unexplored now will not arrive before 2022, Exhibitor relations reports.

Bond was the big movie whose third deadline was enough to force the Regal and Cineworld theater chains to shut down all of their locations in the US and UK. It was originally scheduled for April 2020, then was pushed back to November 2020 and now to April 2021. If you count, this new one marks the fourth delay. Instead of streaming the film, as other studios have done, MGM seems adamant about the film’s premiere in theaters – but by the time it is sure to do so, it may be that it does. there aren’t that many.

AMC has warned investors that it is on the verge of running out of cash and that other theaters may not survive beyond mid-2021 as well. So the passage of the Bond franchise at the end of the year is not a good sign.

We can probably expect more movies to be delayed due to the delay added to the delay, as only a certain number of films can be successfully shown in physical theaters within a given amount of time.

We haven’t heard from Disney yet, but you can also add delays for Edgar Wright Last night in Soho! (now October 22) and Sony Cinderella (now July 16) to the battery.
