The man was camping at the festival with his father when the Bonnaroo medical team was asked to respond to a Saturday situation on the campground, according to a joint statement from the organizers of the festival and the County Sheriff's County Coffee County.

The Coffee County medical team and emergency services arrived at the scene in minutes, the statement said. The medical team administered the CPR and the man was rushed to a nearby hospital where he died.

"We understand that he was suffering from an underlying health problem, but we have no other information yet," reads the statement. "Our thoughts and prayers are with his family and friends."

The festival organizers and the Coffee County Sheriff's Department declined to comment further.

The annual festival, which began in 2002, is expected to attract some 80,000 people this year for four days of live music and other activities.
Last year, a 32-year-old man died in Bonnaroou as a result of a drug overdose, reported the Tennessean.
