Although I still do not know when my frame rate will be fixed and my Guardian negative tokens will be restored, Gearbox starts talking about the future of Borderlands 3 through a new monthly show hosted by Greg Miller and Fran Mirabella of Kinda Funny.
Yesterday, Creative Director Paul Sage Bloody Harvest, the first free event of the game, made its debut in the series. Halloween. But then, during a question-and-answer session, he confirmed something that had been the subject of a rumor Borderlands 3 DLC would not introduce new vault hunters, which represents a marked change from Borderlands 2, which introduced fans like Krieg and Gaige after the launch.
The reason given by Sage is that once people have their Borderlands locked, they are not all inclined to use one of the new substitutes. I presume that there is a certain amount of data to back this up, and I guess the ratio of the amount of work needed to create an entirely new character does not match the number of people who have bothered to Use and level this character in previous games.
Yet, this makes me wonder what the goal will be with future progression. No doubt the maximum level will be raised, which will give us 10 to 20 extra skill points to play, but is that all? Will these existing classes have new skill trees? This was not mentioned. Personally, I do not hate the idea of not introducing new Vault hunters, since I was not crazy to do it. all campaign for the fifth or sixth time with new characters just to get them to the finals, and adding new classes is kind of a staple of the genre in games like Sensational or Diablo. Although I guess not so much with destiny, who did not add an entirely new class after his first three … never. Only subclasses.
We will see how this will be done later in the winter, but we have a free event coming soon that has also been detailed follow-up blog. It would be Bloody Harvest, an event that … dangerously resembles one of those "live service" offers, a free event of limited duration that offers specific rewards that disappear after a stay. This is already causing some discontent within the community because it is a very destinyas a thing to do, and a lot of players as the fact that Borderlands seemed to stay away from this sort of thing. But no longer.
The Bloody Harvest event will introduce new haunted enemies to the map, which will eventually lead you to a new quest and a new map area. There is also a "terror" mechanic be introduced that weakens your precision and handling. There is a new event-specific loot depot, a grenade mod, a shield, and two legendary weapons that use the terrorist mechanic in a way, with a number of cosmetics "to win" (ie not microtransactions), skins of characters, trinkets and a rifle skin.
The boss of the new event is Captain Haunt, a dead version of the captain Traunt who we killed in the countryside, which is pretty smart. For a free event, it seems at least a little fleshy, but I guess we'll have to see it in action.
I am less sure of what I feel about the idea of A) being limited in time and B) dropping equipment that has to do with a terrorist mechanic who will … disappear after this event. And after the end of this event, am I just going to throw this material? The storage and inventory space is extremely valuable. Therefore, if there is no more terror, what good is a terrorist booty taking up space in my incredibly small chest? This seems to be a bit of an oversight of this concept.
It should go down at the end of October, although we do not have a date yet, and it will be much later. Destiny 2: Guarding shadows is rolling, so no overlap there. The next show, next month, we will hear about the Maliwan withdrawal event, which is supposed to be Borderlands again after destiny a bit and do something that looks like a raid, a more complicated than a single hard boss fight alone. I can not wait to hear about that too.
