“Director’s Cut” launches March 18 and will be available individually or as part of Season Pass 2. The add-on has a variety of mouthwatering content, but the title is its brand new raid boss: Hemovorous the Invincible, an absolutely Varkid. titanic hidden behind a door on Pandora that has been closed since Borderlands 3 launched. Only the fiercest big game hunters have a chance to kick him in the chitinous butt in pursuit of some prominent loot. Better to consider your tactics, refine your build, and bring in friends. Oh, and be prepared to get caught up in Varkid’s guts – it’s going to get messy!
“Director’s Cut” also includes a series of mysterious murder missions, with new locations and a new crime scene analysis mechanic. Ava is convinced that she has a head start on some potentially supernatural murders and has decided to document her findings as a serialized podcast. See yourself as his weapon-carrying co-host as you investigate bizarre occurrences on Pandora, Promethea, Eden-6, and Nekrotafeyo in search of answers (and loot), with the help of familiar faces. Eagle-eyed chest hunters can even uncover teasers, clues, and secrets that tie back to the main story.
In addition, “Director’s Cut” will give you access to three Vault Cards, which will allow you to access the next lots of themed loot! When playing with an active Vault map, you can work to improve the map by completing Daily and Weekly Challenges. There is a selection of over 100 unique challenges to complete, so you never know exactly what each day and week can bring. Gain enough progress and you’ll unlock a huge cache of themed cosmetics, as well as some extremely powerful gear that level up to your level.
The first of three Vault Maps, which will be released as part of “Director’s Cut,” features items that honor some of Borderlands’ most beloved fallen heroes; the other two Vault Cards are expected to launch by the end of 2021. Vault Card content does not expire, and when multiple Vault Cards are available, you will have the option to select which one you want to activate at any time.
And finally, the Director’s Cut add-on offers a treasure trove of never-before-seen behind-the-scenes content. You will get an overview of the development of Borderlands 3, bloopers to cut content, and have access to a gallery featuring concept art, storyboards, lost cards and tons of footage that traces the development of the game.
The disciples of the vault
Today’s episode of The Borderlands Show also surprised vault hunters with a new set of “Multiverse” cosmetic multipacks called “The Vault Disciples”. Much like the “Final Form” multipacks, the “The Disciples of the Vault” multipacks each contain a unique Vault Hunter body with a new matching head. These latest cosmetics give you a taste of what the Vault Hunters would have become had they joined the Vault Children and will be available for purchase individually, through Season Pass 2 and Borderlands 3 Owners of the Ultimate Edition will receive all four multipacks at no additional cost. Anyway, “The Vault Disciples” arrives on March 18th.
