It's increasingly difficult to determine when you can actually play a new game. But for the upcoming release of Borderlands 3Gearbox seems to keep things simple by launching the game at midnight on September 13th for (almost) all time zones, unless you're on a Windows PC. Players will also be able to pre-load the game two days in advance.
On the consoles, the release date for Borderlands 3 September 13th. For most players, this means they can play it from midnight in their time zone that day. The only exception to this rule seems to be North America, where the game is launched at midnight, Eastern Time, throughout the region. This means that the game will be available on September 12th at 9pm. PDT for West Coast residents.
As for PC players, the situation is a little different. Instead of a phased deployment, the launch is based on the British summer time. The game will be released in the UK at midnight on September 13 – or 12:01, technically. For PC players from North America, this means that the west coast will receive the game at 4 pm. PDT September 12 at 7 pm EDT.
It does not matter which platform you plan to play on Borderlands 3 on, you can pre-load the game 48 hours before the release date. This is good news, given that Epic Games leader Tim Sweeney said three weeks ago that Epic Games Store – where the PC version will be available exclusively for six months – would not support preloading Borderlands 3. PC players should be able to preload around 19 hours. EDT on September 10, while console players should be able to start downloading the game a few hours later, at midnight on September 11th.
