  • Bose Sport Open headphones leave your ear canal fully open so you can hear your surroundings at all times.
  • The headphones have an IPX4 rating and support Bluetooth 5.1.
  • They are available now for $ 199.95.

The Bose Sport open-ear headphones take a sharp turn off of the company’s typical noise reduction offerings. These open-type headphones sit gently on the crest of your ear and let in outside noise. Some listeners may find this counterintuitive, but being aware of your surroundings is absolutely imperative for outdoor athletes.

These true wireless headphones do not use bone conduction technology as we have seen from famous audio company Aftershokz. Instead, the pilots emit sound directly from the headphones, and the waves are then channeled into your ear canal. Bose promises that audio playback will only be heard by the listener, even when the volume outputs are loud.

These open earbuds are water resistant as indicated by the IPX4 rating. Each ear hook holds the earpiece in place so that it hugs the back of your ear. Like the Bose Sport headphones and Bose QuietComfort headphones, the Sport Open headphones use Bluetooth 5.1 firmware. Each earpiece contains a single button for playback control and voice assistant access. You can also control the headphones from the Bose Music app.

The Bose Sport Open headphones are available for pre-order in the US and retail for $ 199.95. Bose will start shipping the headset in mid-January, and black is currently the only color option.
