Boston College returns fumble for TD against Clemson

Boston College took a stunning 14-point lead against Clemson in the first half after the Tigers looked set to tie the game.

Travis Etienne and backup quarterback DJ Uiagalelei had a poor transfer in third and on goal near the BC goal line. The ball dropped forward and was picked up by Brandon Sebastian of Boston College.

Sebastian then took the ball 97 yards for a TD and a 21-7 lead.

A Clemson TD would have tied the game at 14-14. Saturday is the first time the Tigers have trailed off in an all-season game, but it’s not because Uiagalelei has struggled. The freshman – making his first start due to Trevor Lawrence’s diagnosis of COVID-19 – had played well until the messy exchange.
