Your slender summer body might fit well into this narrow nest.

A legendary hangout in Boston’s North End – a property 10 feet wide at its widest point and well known as the Skinny House – has been listed for $ 1.2 million, according to the Boston Globe.

Located at 44 Hull Street, the slender structure – whose slender form makes it the narrowest in the city – measures approximately 1,165 square feet. At the back, it’s only 9.25 feet wide.

The house is four stories tall and has no front door, with only four oversized windows visible from the sidewalk. (The entrance is located next door, in an alley.)

Despite its small size, the house has space for a kitchen with good storage.

The first level houses a kitchen with a stone counter, as well as a dining area. The second floor has enough space for a living room, dining area, utility room and the only bathroom in the house. The third level houses a bedroom, while the fourth floor houses the master bedroom.

This house has its origins in fraternal beef. The Globe reported that two brothers had inherited land from their father. When one was fleeing the Civil War, the other built a sprawling property across the lot. Out of spite, when the war returned in the 1860s, the other erected this piece of house to block his brother’s view. This is why it is also known as the Spite House. A wooden sign on the outside of the house makes this official, with “The Skinny House (Spite House)” etched into the grain.

Other skinny houses have popped up over the past year or so. Last August, a wedge-shaped house outside of Chicago that is only three feet wide at one end sold for $ 260,000 – and then went viral on TikTok. A month later, and across the pond, London’s thinnest house, about five feet wide at its narrowest point, was worth $ 1.29 million.
