Pbading an important pre-flight leg before a scheduled launch and landing early Sunday, a SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket turned on its main engines on Wednesday for a Fire Shooting at Cape Canaveral
The static fire test was held at 5 pm. EDT (2100 GMT) on the launch pad of Cape Canaveral Complex 40, with the satellite payload of the rocket attached.
The next step in launch preparations will be to return the Falcon 9 rocket to its horizontal badembly building. satellite, a Canadian-owned, Canadian-owned device that will begin a 15-year mission from the broadband of the Americas and the Atlantic.
Takeoff is scheduled for 1:50 EDT (5:50 GMT) a four-hour launch window. This will be the 13th SpaceX launch of the year, and the second flight of the new Falcon 9 Block 5.
