Kong: Skull Island Set up four characters for a Godzilla 2 Cameo

Let's go back for a moment and look at Kong: Skull Island a movie that does not leave much room for crossovers. Jordan Vogt-Roberts's film had an unnecessarily high number of characters, and baduming Dougherty spoke of human distribution (and that Kong himself or Skullcrawlers were not wrapped up in the monsters' attempt to destroy the Earth) we only have four options: Tom Hiddleston's James Conrad, Brie Larson's Mason Weaver, Jing Tian's San Lin and Corey Hawkins's Houston Brooks. The last two are Monarch scientists struggling for survival in the background of much of the film before recruiting Conrad and Weaver in the post-credits scene of Kong: Skull Island . This dart explicitly set Godzilla 2 with the four slides showing Gojira's rock paintings intertwined with Rodan, Mothra and Ghodirah.

Given the age of the four characters in 1973, each of them could still be alive during the (probably) 2019 events of Godzilla: The King of Monsters . With this jump of 46 years, however, that would probably mean that they would be recast. And it's here that dance comes into play.

The Mysterious Character of Charles Dance is Old Tom Hiddleston

Charles Dance is Unique in the Cast of Godzilla: King of Monsters en what he has not yet received from a character first name. Everyone in the main and minor roles – from Millie Bobby Brown (Madison Russell) to Anthony Ramos (Colonel Martinez) – so for an actor the size of Dance (especially in recent years) suggests that it's not the same. There is not enough role to justify the confirmation or that it is a secret. All in all, we are inclined to say the last.

Actor-wise, all concords. Hiddleston was 34 years old when he shot Kong: Skull Island while Dance was 70 years old during the production of Godzilla 2 . That's a 35-year gap, which is within the wider limits of the cinema's age (Hiddleston could easily play five years younger and Dance five years older). In addition, both actors have retained their British accents. And, in short, if you were to throw an older Tom Hiddleston, Charles Dance is a fair cry (conversely, Hiddleston would do a spot on the young Tywin Lannister).

Stakeholder comments reinforce suspicions. When Screen Rant met Hiddleston in early 2018 to discuss the animation of Aardman Early Man we asked him who he would choose to play his older counterpart in Godzilla vs. Kong . The actor claimed not to know crossover, but stated that he was aware of Godzilla 2 . However, in a hurry to give a name, he was rather clever, instead (with the help of co-star Maisie Williams) he could do it as a prosthetic. In itself, it's a typically jovial reaction to the press, but if James Conrad has really been reworked, then playing this company would certainly be self-evident.

If Charles Dance is really James Conrad in Godzilla: King of the Monsters or not will certainly be revealed in the coming months, but of all we know right now, he is the best candidate for the crossover Kong: Skull Island . After all, there is a delightful irony to Conrad, a character whose first encounter with a monster was Kong, to declare " Long Live the King " about Godzilla: it almost takes a fight for the crown.
