A number of stinging gulls on English beaches seem to steal alcohol, causing illness and death, says a charity for animal welfare.
The Royal Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals said this week they have received more than a dozen reports of stunned, disoriented and confused seagulls, according to the Somerset County Gazette. The "drunk" birds were found on the beaches of southwestern England
"At first, birds seem to have botulism, but after vomiting, most seem to recover," said Jo Daniel, officer of the RSPCA. "But birds really smell of alcohol when we collect them, now our vans smell like pubs."

They are not sure what exactly caused the birds to be "drunk," but they suspect that the birds may be spreading in nearby breweries, the BBC reported
