The comments of the actor had irritated many social media users. They said that Cavill was misguided by hinting that women could not know when they were badually harbaded and when someone was flirting with them. However, some said that they understood the point of view of the actor

Here's the thing ….

I think a lot of women take the ego too, the movement is too far. As a guy can accidentally brush a lady's bad and suddenly his entire life is over. So, I'm from where Henry Cavill comes

BUT

The way he said he was insensitive

[19659013] It's absurd. If Henry Cavill does not want to be called a rapist then all he has to do is … do not rape anyone.

The mental gymnastics that some men do to position themselves as "victims" of #MeToo is crazy. pic.twitter.com/nafnZiaXGH

If you do not want to be called a rapist, then when you approach a woman. Please do not violate it … Someone please direct Henry Cavill to the trash can please #clown pic .twitter.com/kVxaeyGE4w – Jameela Jamil (@jameelajamil) July 12, 2018

Today is Henry Cavill with "I believe women should be driven out" [19659008] When is the notion of being hunted a * pleasant * feeling so universally accepted? pic.twitter.com/z6kQnCzVrF

After the kickback, Cavill's representative issued an apology to clarify his intent.

According to The Hollywood Reporter statement reads, " Having seen the reaction to a particular article about my feelings about dating and the #MeToo movement, I just wanted to apologize for any confusion and misunderstanding that this insensibility was absolutely not my intention, in light of this, I would just clarify and confirm to all that I have always and will continue to hold women in the greatest respect, regardless of the type of relationship, being friend, professional or otherwise, never wanting to disrespect in any way, this experience has taught me a valuable lesson about context and nuance editorial freedoms in the future towards a subject that is so vitally important and in which I wholeheartedly support. "

Cavill will then be seen alongside Tom Cruise Mission: Impossible – Fallout, the sixth installment of the franchise and a sequel to Mission: Impossible – Rogue Nation.
