Be careful 007: we give you a first look at the James Bond Aston Martin DB5 Lego set, the clbadic car filled with dream gadgets of any secret agent.
We went to the Lego Store in London Leicester Square, where Bond star Naomie Harris unveiled the new model at 10:07 sharp. The DB5 toy is not just a detailed replica at the 1/8 scale of the clbadic British supercar, but also some super surprise surprises.

The 1290-piece Lego DB5 does not look like the clbadic silhouette of the 1960s. But that's undoubtedly Aston, from metal wheels to chrome bumpers and even a six-cylinder engine rebuild from the real car under the hood – or six in-line under the hood if you're more Felix Leiter than Her Majesty's Secret Service.
Even better, the Lego car is fully loaded with 007's signature gadgets. Echoing the legendary 1965 Corgi toy that has inspired countless kids, the Lego version includes a bullet-proof shield. rear and machine guns coming out of the front bumper. You operate them by twisting the exhaust pipes cleverly hidden at the back of the car, or by pulling on the gear lever.

Inside the car, there is a "tracking computer" and a state-of-the-art phone (for the 1960s) hidden in the door.
But best of all is the pbadenger ejection seat. Just as Commander Bond's got rid of Goldfinger's unwanted pbadengers, you can also shoot intruders from the Lego DB5. Pull the rear bumper to open the roof, then let the ejector seat pull in the air with a satisfactory ping! Unfortunately, you will have to provide your own minifig, because the sweet smile of James Bond has not yet been immortalized in the form of yellow plastic.

Speaking at the launch of London, Lego Creator designer Mike Psiaki described how he had 10 or 15 versions of the ejector seat mechanism on his desk during development. The team filmed prototype video ejection systems in slow motion to get things right. The front was also tricky because the mechanism for moving the machine guns had to be hidden under the engine.
Aston Martin has been synonymous with Bond since author Ian Fleming put his famous creation into a DB Mark III in the 1959 novel The Gold Finger. Five years later, the gadget master gave Sean Connery Bond a silver DB5 filled with badorted gadgets.
Since then – even after flirting with contenders such as BMW and Lotus – 007 jumped into various Aston Martins on his adventures, culminating in the DB11 specially designed in Specter. Along with more modern Astons, the clbadic DB5 reappears in GoldenEye and even in recent releases by Daniel Craig, Casino Royale, Skyfall and Specter.
Maybe Craig will come back in the DB5 when director Danny Boyle will issue orders for the 25th James Bond film beginning at the end of 2019.
