BOULDER, Colorado – Police are seeking public help to identify a man who allegedly attempted to lure a boy into his vehicle last Wednesday in the city of Boulder.
The luring attempt took place around 3 pm while a 10-year-old boy was walking home from school, police said.
The man would have made contact with the boy near the intersection of 15th St. and Orchard Ave. and, according to the police, asked the boy if he needed a walk before asking the child to get in his vehicle.
The police stated that the boy had gone home and immediately informed a relative of what had happened. The police had been called to record a report on the incident.
The suspect is described as a white man of middle age with bristly facial hair. Police said that at the time of the attempt to lure him he was wearing a green hat. The vehicle he was driving is described as an old model of a dirty and badly damaged red van.
A Boulder police official said he has increased patrols in the area.
