He is accused of shooting 10 people in cold blood in Boulder, Colo. In broad daylight – but when police started questioning him he refused to answer them and wanted to speak to his mother.
A police affidavit describes the behavior of Ahmad Al Aliwi Alissa, the suspect in Monday’s grocery store massacre, as police took him into custody with only his underwear on and bleeding from ‘a gunshot wound.
“The suspect did not answer questions, although he did ask to speak to his mother,” the affidavit read.
Also during the investigation, her sister-in-law was questioned by the police and told them that Alissa, weighing over 200 pounds, usually wears a medium sized t-shirt and “looks like he has a beer belly or pregnant. “

Investigators said Alissa ransacked the King Soopers grocery store on Table Mesa Drive in Boulder and opened fire on the cops who responded, fatally hitting Officer Eric Talley in the head.
Before surrendering to the SWAT team operators, he stripped naked to wear only his underpants, police said, and had visible blood on his right leg. The surrender was filmed from many angles on the ground and from airborne cameras.
Authorities later discovered a bullet wound in the thigh.

As police took him to hospital for treatment, other officers recovered a green tactical vest, semi-automatic handgun and rifle from the scene, along with discarded clothing.
“There was a lot of blood around the objects,” according to the affidavit.
A Mercedes C sedan found in the parking lot of the grocery store was reportedly registered with Alissa’s brother, police said, and there was a gun case inside.

Besides Talley, authorities identified the victims as 20-year-old Denny Stong; Neven Stanisic, 23; Rikki Olds, 25; 49-year-old Tralona Bartkowiak; Suzanne Fountain, 59 years old; Teri Leiker, 51 years old; Kevin Mahoney, 61; Lynn Murray, 62, and Jody Waters, 65.
Alissa faces 10 counts of first degree murder and one additional charge of attempted first degree murder.
