SALEM – Alternative Therapies Group, the only leisure cannabis retailer in the region, has suspended all retail sales due to an inventory data problem.
In an article published Tuesday night on the blog, Chris Edwards, executive director of the company, said that the company's inventory data have been tainted in the seed tracking system since the day. state of sale, METRC ".
"This prevents us from transferring the recreational inventory from our growing facility and manufacturing products (or third-party vendors) into Salem's dispensary," wrote Edwards. "The METRC support team and the Cannabis Control Commission have worked hard to fix the problem, but it's a long and complex process."
At the moment, the company only deals with sales related to the medical sector, Edwards writes. The company's rendez-vous system for leisure sales had been put out of service from Wednesday morning.
"We have no timetable to solve the problem at the moment," he wrote.
The METRC system is a complete inventory system that tracks marijuana products from the moment they were planted to their sale. It was "specially designed for government agencies in charge of the legalized application of marijuana," reads METRC's website.
ATG Tuesday afternoon had announced that only retail flower products were not available because of the problem, but other products such as vaping pen cartridges were still being sold for recreational purposes . But that changed later on Tuesday.
"We deeply regret not being able to honor leisure customers," wrote Edwards, "even those whose appointments are scheduled, until further notice."
ATG, located at 50 Grove St., Salem, was the first medical marijuana clinic opened in 2015. It has become the third largest marijuana treatment store for recreational purposes – and the first in Canada. Eastern Massachusetts – when it opened its doors to retail customers.
