“He was a beloved son, brother and grandson,” said Alto. “At this time, we are putting together all of the facts that led to his untimely death and we have no interest in commenting on the speculations.”
“The International Brotherhood is horrified and outraged by this incident,” the International Brotherhood said in a statement. “The Brotherhood has a policy of zero tolerance towards illegal activity, drug addiction, bullying and hazing of all kinds.”
The BGSU chapter was placed on “administrative suspension,” the fraternity added. “We will also pursue the permanent suspension of the Delta Beta chapter as well as the expulsion of all chapter members from the International Fraternity.
A spokesperson for BGSU told CNN that it has also placed its Pi Kappa Alpha chapter on temporary suspension.
“Local police and university investigations are ongoing,” Alex Solis, a spokesperson for the BGSU, told CNN in an emailed statement. “However, I can confirm that we have placed Pi Kappa Alpha on temporary suspension for suspected hazing activity.”
“The BGSU is committed not only to conducting investigations into student conduct and law enforcement, but also to conducting a full investigation into the prevention and compliance responsibilities of each Greek section under the policies of the university banning hazing, ”the university wrote.
Duncan Faulk, Foltz’s first year roommate at BGSU, mourned his friend.
Foltz’s family was able to donate his organs, Alto said.
