Boxboy + Boxgirl Chronicle: One of Nintendo's hidden gems, now on Switch

Since its debut in 2015, one of the best Nintendo series is a little black and white puzzle called Boxboy. Unfortunately, this has never really taken seriously. This may be due to the fact that all three games have been released as 3DS downloads, or maybe the Spartan graphics have made it boring. Whatever the reason, there is a good chance that you have not experienced the joy of the boxes, and that the time has come to solve this problem. This week, Nintendo released Boxboy + Boxgirl Switch, and this is the most complete version of the series to date. The game includes over 250 new puzzles to solve, a cooperative mode and slightly refreshed visuals.

As with all great puzzle games, the premise of Boxboy It's incredibly simple: you are introduced to a small level and the goal is to reach the door at the end. To do this, you must use a somewhat strange skill: the main character holder can produce boxes from his body. With this power, you can create bridges and ladders to navigate at each level. You will end up acquiring new skills, such as the ability to use blocks like pogo stick or grapple, and the level design also becomes more complex. It's usually pretty easy to get through each step, but finding the hidden crowns and using the fewest possible boxes adds a new challenge to the otherwise simple riddles.

These games are also really, really cute. Boxboy and Boxgirl may be just small boxes with legs, but they give off a surprising amount of charm and personality. It all comes down to how their eyes flutter and how they shake when they produce new boxes.
