Boy mistakes Prince Harry for Christmas tree vendor

Prince Harry has a future in Christmas tree sales if he wants one.

The Duke of Sussex found himself put on duty the other day by an excited 5-year-old boy who wanted help finding the perfect tree, the Daily Mail reported.

Harry, 36, and his wife Megan Markle, 39, had stopped by the pop-up stall to purchase Christmas decorations for their $ 14.7 million estate. This Christmas will be the first for the couple in California since they distanced themselves from the royal family almost a year ago.

The confusion took place Tuesday at Big Wave Dave’s Christmas Trees & Pumpkin Patch, which set up in tents outside a Macy’s in Santa Barbara, not far from Harry and Meghan’s digs in Montecito.

They had made arrangements to have the place to themselves, but the boy and his parents were not quite done shopping.

A real Christmas tree seller, James Almaguer, witnessed the mistaken identity case.

“There was a family in there and their delighted little son ran through the trees to Harry and asked him if he was working here not knowing who it was,” Almaguer tweeted.

Then the couple went about their business, buying a tree and leaving a good impression.

“Honestly, they seem to be very nice people,” Almaguer said. “Meghan looks very sweet and Harry looks and acted honestly like a cold boy.

After Christmas, the couple and their 18-month-old son Archie will fly to the UK so they can quarantine two weeks at Frogmore Cottage before Meghan appears in court on January 11 for her trial for copyright infringement against the Mail on Sunday, Vanity Fair reported. The Duchess of Sussex is suing the tabloid for publishing a letter she wrote to her father, Thomas Markle.
