Landen was transferred from the intensive care unit to an inpatient physical rehabilitation program in early August, indicating that he was progressing in his recovery, according to a statement from his family on GoFundMe.

Aranda filed a notice of appeal last Friday in the Minnesota Court of Appeal, according to the Associated Press.
