“It would require people to know basketball, and most people don’t.”
That was Draymond Green’s response to a question from Kerith Burke of NBC Sports Bay Area regarding whether people appreciate quality defensive play in the NBA. The Warriors forward isn’t the only NBA star calling out those who don’t quite understand the game, as Damian Lillard and Bradley Beal also spoke out on so-called “box score fans” on Sunday.
As the NBA has grown around the world and grown into a multi-billion dollar industry, online gambling discourse has exploded around the world.

Players like Draymond, Beal and Lillard are guys who not only play the game for a living, but have a passion for the sport.
Naturally, they just want to see the more subtle aspects of the game, as Draymond mentioned with defense, analyzed properly by those who cover and report on the sport.
We’ve seen current players become more involved in NBA media coverage in recent years, and perhaps more collaboration on that front will lead to more comprehensive coverage of basketball in general.
