Kelly Clarkson’s ex-husband Brandon Blackstock has reportedly requested spousal and child support in their divorce.

The talk show host filed for divorce from Blackstock in June, citing “irreconcilable differences” after nearly seven years of marriage. They share their daughter River, 6, and their son Remington Alexander, 4.

Clarkson, 38, recently obtained primary custody of their two children. People magazine reported that Blackstock, a talent manager, plans to live in Montana while she continues to work and live in Los Angeles.

One of the latest documents filed in court shows that Blackstock is now asking the singer for $ 436,000 in monthly support. TMZ, citing court documents, reports that $ 301,000 of the total requested by Blackstock would go towards spousal support, while the remaining $ 135,000 would cover child support.

The six-figure monthly demand comes amid heightened controversy among exes. The court which presided over the divorce case recently ruled that “the level of conflict between the parents has increased”. Documents specifically claimed that Clarkson and her ex were facing co-parenting issues resulting from “trust issues,” People magazine reported on Monday.

After Clarkson’s victory over the main guard, Blackstock can visit their son and daughter in Los Angeles and he will also be allowed to video chat with them every day. Blackstock will be able to switch from December 19 to Christmas at 2 p.m. with the kids. Meanwhile, Clarkson will reunite with them on Christmas afternoon until the end of New Years.

Blackstock also has two children, Savannah and Seth, from a previous marriage.

On a recent episode of her talk show, the Grammy winner apparently hinted at the reason for her split from Blackstock.

“Even at 38, I feel like I’m always changing and progressing in the right direction, in the right direction. And I always want to make sure I’m the best version of myself, ”she told her audience.

She continued, “My mother has told me since I was a child: you are the people around you. You want to make sure you’re around people who also want to be the best versions of themselves and who also want a common good goal for everyone, not just them, right? “

In October, Clarkson revealed that her children were in therapy to cope with the divorce. She said it was a way to protect their “little hearts”.

“We have a lot of help when it comes to therapists or child psychologists because we want to do it right,” said the “The Voice” coach.

“I really want to do it right,” Clarkson added. “Everyone is sad and it’s okay to be sad.”
