A second player signed the franchise tag offer used on him earlier this week.

Friday’s deal report says Washington football goaltender Brandon Scherff has signed his offer. Panthers tackle Taylor Moton became the first player to sign his offer on Thursday.

Scherff was tagged last season, which means the tag’s salary is a 20% increase from last year’s total. That leaves Scherff in line to earn a guaranteed salary of just over $ 18.03 million if he plays the year on his terms.

Washington and Scherff could still reach agreement on a long-term deal. They have until July 15 to work on such a deal.

In addition to Moton and Scherff, seven other beacons were distributed this week. Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott got one, but he will play as part of his four-year, $ 160 million contract extension.
