In response, Kris Wu and his team denied the charges and claimed they would sue Du Meizhu for libel. Although Du never received a court summons and was approached by Wu’s team with a cash settlement, highlighted in a follow-up article showing the negotiations via the chat history and a copy of contract. Du also received two bank transfers totaling 500,000 RMB (approximately $ 77,172) from Wu Stacy Yu and Wu Yi Fan, who are believed to be Kris Wu’s mother.

Du Meizhu spoke to the press recently, noting that she had returned the money in silence and was ready to face legal repercussions as more than 30 women contacted her to share similar experiences. with Wu.
