The Atlanta Braves announced Friday night that they had signed a one – year contract with Dallas Keuchel. Here is the tweet that they sent around 10 pm. AND officially announcing the move.

Keuchel, 31, will earn $ 13 million by the end of the season and will be eligible for the free agency again in November.

Keuchel joins the Braves with an average of 3.66 in 1,200 innings, all with the Houston Astros. His market never really developed during the winter for various reasons, and he chose to wait until the MLB project was adopted to lose the compensation of the choice of the token that was attached to him.

The veteran southpaw will be number 60 with the Braves. Weather permitting, he will make his debut with the Gwinnett Braves on Saturday night.

In an interesting note from Ken Rosenthal of The Athletic, Keuchel will be called by June 18 at the latest. One could deduce that this would be enough for two rehabilitation treatments, then a start with the Atlanta Braves at the end of June.

To make room for the 40-man roster, the Braves transferred Darren O'Day to the 60-day casualty list. I imagine that the move was retroactive to the start of the season if O'Day is able to launch this year.
