Braves vs Brewers schedule and likely pitchers

Freshly engaged in San Diego, the Atlanta Braves will conclude their journey with a three-game match in Milwaukee against the Brewers. Atlanta has recently jumped 26-10 in the last 36 games. They now lead the Washington Nationals with 7 games and the Philadelphia Phillies with 8.5 games in the NL East standings.

Josh Donaldson has been hot for the Braves lately. He dominated three times in the first two games of the series in San Diego. He now hits .292 / .433 / .958 with five homers in his last seven games.

The Brewers enter the series in trouble. After 13-13 months in June, they were only 3-7 in July and slipped 2.5 games behind the Chicago Cubs in NL Central with a 48-46 record. Atlanta took two of the three from Milwaukee at SunTrust Park in mid-May.

Max Fried (2019: 20 G, 18 GS, 98.2 IP, 22.8 K%, 6.8 BB%, 4.29 ERA, 3.92 FIP, 3.43 x FIP, 96 ERA-)

Max Fried will try to enjoy three more days of rest and regain his form on the first day of the series in Milwaukee. After a good start to the season, Fried had some recent difficulties. He allowed 11 hits and five points in five innings in his last game against the Marlins. Since June 1st, Fried has allocated 25 points in 36 2/3 innings (6.14 ERA). He made a strong performance against the Brewers on May 17, allowing only two hits and eliminating five in six shutouts.

Adrian Houser (2019: 19 G, 5 GS, 42.2 IP, 26.0 K%, 10.5 BB%, 4.01 ERA, 4.23 FIP, 3.65 xFIP, 90 ERA-)

Adrian Houser will receive the Brewers' call in the first game. He will make his sixth start of the season and his fourth straight since returning to the rotation. Houser has a big arm and has excelled as a replacement by posting a silver medal of 1.04 in 14 appearances. He was not as lucky as a starter where he conceded 16 earned runs in 17 innings (8.47). He was heavily hit on his last start, allowing seven hits and five runs in just four innings against the Pirates.

Bryse Wilson (2019: 4G, 3 GS, 23.4 K%, 10.9 BB%, 6.14 ERA, 5.25 FIP, 4.74 xFIP, 138 ERA-)

The Braves will promote right-hander Bryse Wilson in time to start Tuesday in Milwaukee. After struggling at the start of the season, Wilson was excellent on his last start, allowing only five hits and two runs in six innings in a win against the Phillies. Wilson has seen an acceleration of his fastball speed in his last two league starts. Atlanta sent Wilson back to Gwinnett after his outing against the Phillies to keep him on a regular schedule. However, he was hit hard from last Thursday, allowing eight hits and nine points in just 2 2/3 innings against Charlotte.

Brandon Woodruff (2019: 18 GS, 108.0 IP, 28.8 K%, 5.7 BB%, 3.69 ERA, 2.91 FIP, 3.32 xFIP, 82 ERA-)

Brandon Woodruff will be on the mound for Milwaukee and will make his first appearance since he's named All-Star of the National League. Woodruff started the break well, having allowed a total of two points in his last two starts. He allowed seven hits and a six-run score last time against the Reds. He made a good performance against Atlanta on May 26th. He allowed five hits, two points and removed six in eight innings.

Dallas Keuchel (2019: 5 GS, 32.0 IP, 12.5 K%, 7.4 BB%, 3.09 ERA, 4.89 FIP, 4.49 xFIP, 69 ERA-)

Dallas Keuchel will make his sixth start for the Braves in the series finale on Wednesday. Keuchel has started to get in shape in his last three starts, where he has allowed five combined innings while finishing seventh overall. It does so without high speed and relies instead on its cutter to produce a soft touch. It has allowed many baserunners but has managed to minimize the damage up to now. Keuchel allowed six hits and defeated the Padres with four batters at his highest point of the season, but allowed only one point over seven innings.

Chase Anderson (2019: 18 G, 13 GS, 71.2 IP, 23.5 K%, 7.5 BB%, 4.27 ERA, 4.32 FIP, 4.63 XFIP, 96 ERA-)

Milwaukee will turn to Chase Anderson for the series finale on Wednesday. Anderson has launched well lately, giving two points or less to each of his last four starts. The Brewers generally limit Anderson's exposure often pulling him after dealing with the command twice. He entered the sixth in only three of his 13 starts this season. He allowed three hits, two points and took five out of five on his last start against the Giants. Anderson faced off against the Braves on May 18, allowing two hits, four walks and one undefeated point in four sets.
