Maia announces that the privatization of Eletrobras will not be voted this year

The Speaker of the House of Deputies, Rodrigo Maia, announced Tuesday night (10), shortly after the approval of Bill 10332/18 authorizing the sale of six electricity services, that the privatization project of Eletrobras will not be voted this year.

Last week, Maia was committed to establishing the bill only after the definition of this year's presidential elections. For Rodrigo Maia, the question should be directed or not by the new President of the Republic.

"I hereby inform that our agreement regarding the non-voting of the PL [projeto de lei] of Eletrobras is guaranteed and will be conducted in this manner by this presidency.We will not vote for Eletrobras LP this year, "said Rodrigo Maia, answering the question posed by the representative Orlando Silva (PCdoB-SP).
