The city of Porto Alegre offers free and rapid tests of HIV, syphilis and the disease. 39 Hepatitis C Sunday. Held by the mível unit of the project "Stay Informed", the action takes place from 14:00 to 18:00, near the Monument to the Expeditionary, in the Redemption.
Two offices are available to serve the population with security and confidentiality and test results are ready in 30 minutes. The service also includes condom distribution, guidelines and prevention tips.
According to the mayor, people with confirmed cases of syphilis in the tests can already receive treatment with the application of the first dose of penicillin. The team is made up of municipal health officials.
Next Sunday, the service, which is offered by the Municipal Health Secretariat (SMS), will be held at Centro Vida (Avenida Baltazar de Oliveira Garcia, 2132), from 1.30 pm to 6 pm. In case of heavy rain, the schedule is canceled.
The "Stay Informed" project aims to expand prevention and early diagnosis of badually transmitted infections, as well as to increase referral to treatment, which should begin as soon as possible. The idea is still that people diagnosed with HIV do not give up the use of antiretroviral drugs, necessary to maintain their quality of life.
