The President of the Federal Supreme Court, Minister Carmen Lúcia, rejected the injunction to suspend the auction of state electricity distributors, subsidiaries Eletrobras . The request was made by the Eletrobras Employees Association. The decision was taken Friday, but was released only Monday (23), when Carmen Lúcia temporarily took the presidency of the Republic.
The entity representing workers in the sector filed a constitutional complaint in the STF. The action challenged the decision of the regional court of the 2nd region – TRF2 which issued the auction, canceling the impediment of the sale of energy distributors decided by the first instance.
The badociation claims that the TRF2 decision did not comply with the injunction of Minister Ricardo Lewandowski, who banned the government from selling control of share ownership of publicly traded companies without the permission of the legislature. In badyzing the case, Carmen Lúcia understood that the judge had complied with Lewandowski's decision. And that the constitutional complaint is not the type of lawsuit that should be used in cases like this.
Companhia Energética do Piauí – Cepisa will be the first of six distributors of Eletrobras to be auctioned. The auction is scheduled for this Thursday (26). Already on Monday 30, the auctions of the electricity company of Acre – Eletroacre, Centrais Elétricas of Rondônia – Ceron, Boa Vista Energia, Roraima, and Amazonas Energia are expected to occur.
