The nine family health units (USF) in Mongaguá will soon have pediatric care ambulatory. The new service was announced by the municipal administration, after the current mayor Márcio Melo Gomes, Márcio Head, was sworn in on the last day to meet pediatrician Richard Kotzent, to start negotiations for the implantation of the specialty in the units

Currently, for specialized care, patients must move to another municipality or, in case of emergency, seek the children's emergency room to Adoniran Correa Campos Hospital (Avenida São Paulo, 826). In UBS, outpatient services are provided only by general practitioners.

Wanted, City Hall said the provision should begin in mid-August. However, since the project is still being formatted, the number of professionals that will need to be recruited for the feature has not yet been defined.

It is expected that the presence will occur at least once a week in each UBS. Depending on neighborhood demand, some units may have more than one day a week for routine consultations, according to the report.
