According to the data, the rate of infestation observed in these regions was 2.7%, which represents an average of nearly three out of every 100 homes identified.

16 other districts also had outbreaks of mosquitoes: Oitizeiro, Alto do Mateus, Grotão, Gramame, Valentina Figueiredo, Plana Boa Esperanca, Jardim Oceania, Manaíra, Tambaú, Castelo Branco, Miramar, Altiplano, Bancaria, Jardim Cidade Universitaria , Jardim São Paulo and Anatolia.

Compared to the latest published research, done with data from April this year, there was an increase in the index of predation infestation at João Pessoa. At the time, the rate was 0.5%, but in this new survey, it was 0.7%.

As the study points out, most outbreaks were found in disposable materials that were in garbage cans and in drinking water storage areas. The study was conducted from July 11 to 18 and, during this period, more than 13,000 properties were inspected.

LiraA is developed by sampling and is carried out four times a year, dividing the 64 districts of the capital of Paraíba into 29 zones.
