Clementino Fraga conducts activities related to the World Day for the Fight against Viral Hepatitis

Clementino Fraga (CHCF), an integral unit of the State Department of Health (SES), carries out activities alluding to the "World Day of Fighting Viral Hepatitis", celebrated on 28 July . The date represents the "Yellow Yeel", which is the color that represents the fight against viral hepatitis in Brazil. Activities are scheduled for three consecutive days, ending on Friday (27) with actions at Clementino Fraga.

As a reference hospital in Paraíba for treatment of viral hepatitis, every year in July, the Clementino Fraga Complex attracts attention, through actions of information and education, on Viral hepatitis – The Viral hepatitis are diseases caused by different viruses that have distinct characteristics (A, B, C, D and E). They have a universal distribution and there are territorial differences in the occurrence and magnitude of these depending on the etiological agent and the type of exposure of people to the virus.

The "Yellow July" aims to raise awareness about the importance of prevention,] treatment of viral hepatitis.

The primary prevention measure for hepatitis A and B is the vaccine. The hepatitis B vaccine is part of the National Immunization Program's immunization program, administered to all children aged 0, 1 and 6 months.

The vaccine against hepatitis A is recommended by the Brazilian Society of Pediatrics for all children of 12 and 18 months.

For the prevention of hepatitis C, there is still no vaccine available. It is recommended to avoid contact with contaminated blood, such as contact with used syringes and needles.
