Volkswagen's auto production will grow by 12% this year compared to 2017, according to Pablo Di Si, president and CEO of the automaker for South America and Brazil. The information was broadcast by the executive during the presentation of the new Gol and Travel equipped with an automatic transmission (see here.)
The expectation of growth is essentially anchored in the internal sales of the new Polo and Virtus sedans (mounted in São Bernardo do Campo, SP, as well as the Saveiro pickup) and in exports of the entire line, since sales in Brazil of almost all the brand fell in the first half compared to the same period last year. 19659006] The Polo was the fourth best-selling car in the first half of this year, with 34,100 units. Virtus has approached 17,000 units in the period, although its sales began only in February. Saveiro reported 22.2 thousand units and rose 10.1%. The ABC plant in São Paulo has operated in three teams. With the boost of the two new cars, VW's domestic sales in the first half rose above the market average.
"Our sales grew by 33%, while the total market has only increased by 14%", famed Pablo Di Si. |
The Taubaté (SP) plant will have to rely on aid exports to grow, but the Argentineans have to buy 10 thousand Brazilian Volkswagens less this year and the automaker can not offset this loss with other destinations like Chile, Colombia and Peru, for example.
In Taubaté 910 cars are manufactured daily in two shifts and half of the production for the Latin American countries. In the domestic market, the three models badembled there lost space in the first half compared to the same period of last year. O Up! was less than 10 thousand units and decreased by 46.2%. Gol recorded 32,500 units, 10% less. The fall of travel was 17%. It is true that the automatic option will be another stimulant for both, but it is unlikely that their sales will increase significantly in 2018 compared to last year, since they have lost more 15,000 in six months.
space for Polo and Virtus, competitors sold in the same utility network.
WAIT T-CROSS IN PARANÁ |
The factory of São José dos Pinhais expects a turnaround with the arrival of the sport utility compact T-Cross, but it will take a few more months. The preparation for the badembly of the model begins in the second half of the year, but mbad production only begins in 2018, according to Di Si.
Two Volkswagen models are currently produced in São José dos Pinhais . One of them is the Golf, whose sales throughout the semester were only 1700 cars, or 30% less than in the first half of last year. The other is Fox, who sold 18,700 units and dropped 10%.
In 2012, this unit drove about 18,000 cars each month.
At the São Carlos (SP) engine plant, Volkswagen informs that production will increase by 58% due to exports, this year the production of the Audi A3 sedan and Q3 was less than 4,000 units.
