Djalma Alexandre da Silva, 61, has been unemployed for two years. For 11 years and three months, he worked as a porter in a residential building. When Silva worked as a porter with a formal contract, Silva earned R $ 1,300. Now, with buzzards, it takes between $ 1,200 and $ 1,300. "But this is not registered," inquires the ex-porter, noting that in this case he has no security if he suffers from an accident working. He is also not entitled to vacation or a thirteenth salary. "We do not have any other means."

Since he's unemployed and he's living in informal employment, it's his wife who guarantees the expenses of the house. She is also 61 years old, but she is retired and receives R $ 1,100 a month. When Silva gets a job, the family's income rises to around 2,000 reais. He has an adult son who lives with him and his wife. But you have to pay the pension and the supply of the car. "My son helps the expenses when he gives."

Difficulty

Silva says that life has got worse since he stopped having a formal job. And from the beginning of this year, there was no reaction in the economy. Until he finds nozzles, it's harder, he reveals.

He gets temporary construction services with a contractor. "The contract service has greatly diminished, the competition is great.We only work when the contractor gets the service," he says.
