The incident led to the evacuation of Terminal 2 from the airport, the second in Germany. Dozens of flights were delayed, some up to seven at the start of the summer holidays in Bavaria. Many pbadengers complained about not knowing what was happening. Others needed to be served because of the high heat.

About 2,000 pbadengers spent the night at the airport. The most affected flights were those of Lufthansa and its Star Alliance partner airlines, as they fly from terminal 2.

Police still investigating the case, but press reports claim that the woman simply pbaded through a security guard who was not busy and entered the restricted area of the airport early on Saturday morning.

According to reports, she had already been properly checked for safety, when security guards found that she had liquids in her carry-on baggage that were not in a plastic bag. The security guards then told him to come back for a small bag

The video camera images show that the woman later returned to the control zone, without hand luggage, and pbaded directly through a security which was not used

Security officers, contrary to the rules, did not immediately alert the airport authorities. Only when they learned about the incident, around 6:45 am, the federal police was informed. The police ordered the expulsion of all pbadengers from the departure area and closed Terminal 2.

The result was chaos. The first message transmitted by loudspeaker only reported that a police operation was underway, which created insecurity among the pbadengers. Around noon, more information arrived: the police cleared the embarkation area, and the planes could take off again.

However, it took hours before thousands of pbadengers a second time. Firefighters have installed giant fans to relieve the summer heat of Europe and airport employees have been distributing bottles of water.

Police published security camera photos to locate the woman. She was identified early Saturday night as a woman in her forties. The police had already ruled out that she posed a risk to public safety and merely stated that she had not been detained.
