Reuters – General Sérgio Etchegoyen, Prime Minister of the Office of Institutional Security (GSI), said Tuesday that threats against President-elect Jair Bolsonaro remained "alive" and that the decision to not use an open car in possession of the new government will not be taken on the day of the ceremony.
Etchegoyen noted that only one case of threat against Bolsonaro had been clarified up to a point, referring to a federal police operation executing the warrants in Rio de Janeiro.
The minister added at a press conference at Plbadto Palace that between 250,000 and 500,000 people were to attend the January 1 inauguration ceremony.
According to Itamaraty, up to now nine heads of state, two vice presidents, eight foreign ministers and two senior leaders of international organizations.
