Destructible Environments, Frenetic Action, Lots of Freedom and Terry Crews. This is the formula that makes up Crackdown 3, action game and third-person shooter that will be released on Xbox One and PC on February 15th. IGN Brazil had the opportunity to test multiplayer and single player modes at an event in San Francisco, USA at the invitation of Microsoft
on Crackdown 3 are inevitable, since the game was expected to arrive in 2016 and ended up experiencing some delays. The additional years of development were more than welcome and resulted in a game that kept the origins of the Xbox 360 franchise, while bringing the familiar pleasure of this series to a new level. By introducing intuitive mechanisms, this game is a game in itself for all types of players, but especially for those who want to embrace chaos.
I was sincerely sad to have to give up my mission in story mode after completing the 90-minute demo.
A player: Vaza daqui, Terra Nova! She was thirsty for more. Although not as frenetic as multiplayer, the Crackdown 3 campaign was my favorite experience in game testing. Indeed, the game immediately offers a whole world to explore without any limitation and without great accessibility. Of course, you are not yet the big hero of the play and there is still much to learn, but hanging out on the enemies and jumping between buildings are simply incredible from the first second.
After definitely entering the game. Seeing the mission-filled map motivated me to hone my skills against the agents of Terra Nova, an organization that controls the colorful and immense city of New Providence. I admit that this excitement also came from the hilarious words of Commander Jaxon (Terry Crews) in the opening scene of the solo mode. The guy is simply cool and brings a unique touch of humor to the story of Crackdown 3. But Jaxon is not the only playable character. There are a number of other agents, men and women, predefined for you.
The Crackdown 3 campaign is not linear, which means that players can explore the map freely and that the story will not suffer. that the narrative pbadages will be there, somewhere, waiting for you – so do not expect a deep story. At the same time, this feature opens spaces for my favorite part of the path, namely the divisions of Newfoundland scattered on the map of the city. Its purpose is to disable the foundations of each sector and rid New Providence of the control of the terrorist organization. Each division is protected by different types of enemies. One of the sectors, for example, is a set of chemical plants focused on the capture of radioactive material. One of the soldiers will simply throw you a toxic green mud. Knowing that another sector is waiting for your attack is what encouraged me the most during the game, even if defeating all the bases of a division will unlock the confrontation with a pivot.
Freedom is in your hands, the diversity of activities and enemies of Crackdown 3 fuels a difficult fight. Fixed vision makes everything more accessible, especially for those who are not used to shooting games, but never underestimate the strength of a horde of enemies. During my first exchange of shots, I failed miserably to believe that I could face all my opponents without using a blanket. The 90-minute test was not enough to badyze the progress of the game more thoroughly, but Crackdown 3 retains another feature of the franchise with the Skills for Kills system. This means that to refine your skills, you must put them into practice. They are separated by firearms, explosives, agility, force and direction.
Overall, the Crackdown 3 campaign seems pretty robust, both by the number of activities and by the size of the map. Of course, the experience will be different when you separate with a friend: the game will have the co-op mode for two players. So, the lack of what to do is not a reality in this game. In addition, the single player mode offers a slightly lighter game than the multiplayer mode, which is the real territory of anyone.
Multiplayer: That's all or nothing
I also played 90 minutes at Wrecking Zone, the multiplayer Crackdown 3 that places two groups of five players in a senseless and devastated fight. The games were limited to one card where I could better explore the verticality of the game while looking for someone to shoot. Visually, the experience was not the most beautiful. The scenario in which we play is a projection of buildings ready to be destroyed by grenade launchers and other powerful weapons
However, I quickly ignored this strange environment and simply entered in the frantic pace of confrontation. During the test, we all had the same capabilities and the same power, the tunnel jetpack being our greatest ally for the movement.
There is no flaw to stay still for more than ten seconds, but it's always important to know when to hit, because your opponent will know when. the sight is shut up inside. Keeping a close ally is also a good option because finding a cover will not always be on a map with destructible environments. By the way, one of my most rewarding victims was to frantically use my missile launcher to destroy the walls surrounding two opponents. unlike any other multiplayer I've played in recent years. The feeling of constant agility, coupled with the fact that there are not many rules to follow, build the basics of addictive gameplay.
