The United Nations (UN) will claim $ 920 million in funding.
Eighteen months ago, more than 730,000 Rohingyas fled Myanmar, a predominantly Buddhist country, following a wave of military repression described as a kind of "ethnic cleansing" by investigators of the UN and living in refugee camps in Bangladesh without any sign that they will move.
A spokeswoman for the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) said Angelina Jolie, the agency's special envoy, would spend three days in the camps "badessing" the needs Rohingyas and the challenges that Bangladesh faces in receiving them.
Angelina, 43, will also meet Bangladeshi Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, who has been commended internationally for her commitment not to repatriate any Rohingya unintentionally, and with the country's foreign minister, AK Abdul Momen.
The spokesman for UNHCR said that Angelina's speeches would address "the need to find safe and lasting solutions to the fight of one of the most persecuted minorities, the Rohingyas".
According to the spokesman, the visit comes before the launch of a new appeal that aims to raise $ 920 million to continue to meet the basic needs of Rohingya. Last year, UN agencies asked for $ 950.8 million for the Rohingya situation.
