WhatsApp announced this Tuesday (5) a new tool to lock the screen of the application and unlock it only with the digital or facial biometric recognition function.
The novelty is for the moment that iPhones. WhatsApp advises to "not yet predict" the arrival of this feature on Android phones.
The tool allows you to determine a duration for the lock, from the last use of the application. Once locked, access will only be allowed with biometric authentication, using the Touch ID and Face ID features, available on Apple cell phones.
When these applications are used by partner applications, Apple does not send the biometric data to the company, which simply indicates that claims have been made.
According to WhatsApp, the new feature will enhance the privacy of the user and prevent other users from using it without permission to read messages.
