Chinese New Year begins this Tuesday (5). For the Chinese living in China, the party has just started and can last several days, depending on the region, but for those who have left the country, the tradition is not as strong. In Campo Grande, those who celebrate meet up with family or friends and some even organize a barbecue party.
Campo Grande News went to the center of the capital to get acquainted with the customs of this fired people who chose the capital to live. Of the eight establishments we visited, they tried to avoid and asked badistants to comment on the report. Few people noticed that Leo Zhu, 31, and Stela Chen Fang Fang, 32, were the only ones allowed to be photographed.
Our first interviewee was Leo Zhu, 31 years old, 8 years old. Campo Grande and runs a store in Calógeras. Although timid and incomprehensible to what we asked, Leo showed in a video how the New Year in China was celebrated: colorful dragons dancing in the streets. He said that in some places, the protests can last up to 15 days, but here in Brazil they meet and the word "churrasco" is clear.
The next stop is in another store located in Barão do Rio Branco. Lucas, 40, did not want to pronounce his last name and tried to move away from the story, but we managed to extract something.
On July 14 and Afonso Pena, we always try to talk to Kelly, Aline and others. two that even the name does not find. Two, three, five years of work in commerce and language still constitute an obstacle. Or would it be an excuse?
Back in Calógeras, we talk to Thays, 30, who works in a restaurant. She was one of the girls we managed to captivate with a little conversation, but she could not explain what typical dishes were prepared for the fraternization that took place on the night of this Monday (4). Her colleagues explained that she was the only one of the family in Brazil, so she celebrated with friends.
Dona Lili Zhu, who has been in Brazil for 7 years, has more vocabulary. Between shyness and sympathy, she said that for her husband and three children, she prepared meat and chicken. "When we almost gave up taking another picture, Dom Aquino, Stela encouraged us."
She added that she also maintained the tradition and prepared special dishes for her husband and three children, two of whom were born in Brazil. Most Westerners know that calendar years are dedicated to signs, represented by animals: mice, buffalo / oxen, tiger, rabbit, dragon, snake / snake, horse, sheep / goat, monkey, rooster, dog / dog and wild boar / pig.
The cycle of eastern countries that follow the Chinese calendar does not have 365 days as the calendar adopted in the West. The system takes into account both the phases of the moon and the position of the sun. The Chinese New Year begins the night of the new moon nearest the day the sun crosses the fifteenth degree of Aquarius. As simple as that! With that, the first day of every Chinese New Year always falls on a date different from that of the Western calendar.
