An 11-year-old girl became pregnant in Argentina after being raped by her 65-year-old grandmother's boyfriend. According to a report from the girl's mother, released Thursday (7) by the state agency Telam, the girl is in the fourth month of gestation for badual abuse.
The 36-year-old mother told authorities in Tucumán province that the violence occurred when the man was alone with the girl four months ago. Alarmed by the state of health of her daughter, the woman sought a health center, which confirmed the pregnancy.
The Office of the Special Prosecutor for Crimes against Sexual Integrity orders the immediate detention of this 65-year-old man.
For six years, mother and daughter live with their maternal grandmother in the rural community of 7 de Abril, located in the municipality of Burruyacú, a few kilometers from the provincial capital. The arrested man is an official of the rural commune where the rape would have been committed.
The prosecution indicates that out of the 133 cases of badual badault recorded in Tucumán in January, 70% correspond to family situations.
These figures indicate that there were at least four complaints a day in the province alone.
"Victims of a fact with these characteristics must immediately proceed to the denunciation," said the prosecutor in charge of the case, Maria del Carmen Reuter.
