Brazil will take command of the CPLP in Cape Verde

President Michel Temer will participate next week in the 12th Conference of Heads of State and Government of the Community of Portuguese Speaking Countries (CPLP), during which Brazil will be responsible for the transfer to Cape Town -Green

] The conference will be held on Tuesday and Wednesday (17 and 18) on the island of Sal in Cape Verde, and will be preceded on Monday (16) by the 23rd Ordinary Meeting of the Council of Ministers of the CPLP, with the presence of Foreign Minister Aloysio Nunes Ferreira.

The presidency of Brazil at CPLP began on November 1, 2016 under the theme "CPLP and the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development."

Since then, 13 ministerial meetings of the CPLP in Brazil have been organized, as well as various meetings of technicians and community authorities in the fields of health, education, culture, health, digital government and the environment, among others

. the promotion and dissemination of the Portuguese language, political and diplomatic promotion and coordination among member countries, and development cooperation among members.

In addition to the member countries, there are badociated countries that do not have Portuguese language, but have a seat in the forum to discuss development and cooperation projects.

There are currently 11 badociated countries; Mauritius, Senegal, Georgia, Japan, Namibia, Turkey, Slovakia, Hungary, Czech Republic and Uruguay. And nine other badociates should be approved.
